1960 Willys Jeep CJ5 in excellent condition for sale. 70k original miles! It has the original “Iron Duke” 4 cylinder engine with great compression and tight 3 speed manual transmission. Garaged. No rust. Great paint. New starter, muffler, battery, fuel pump, in line fuel filter and ignition switch. All gauges work. Oil kept sparkling clean. Great all terrain tires and new shocks. Almost new brakes. Jump seat. Rock jack. Lockable trunk. Tow hitch and ball. Spare tire. Gun rack. New soft top. Heavy duty extended front bumper with tow bar and electric winch. Original hurricane 4-cylinder motor. 66,xxx actual miles. My father bought this brand new in Austin Texas and he owned it until 2009, at which point I obtained it when he was no longer able to drive. So this is a one family jeep for 57 years. It has been a driver, not a show car so it has the occasional scuff and the old radio no longer works.

Glenn’s selling hisDJ-3A he named “Miss Willy”. Ann and I rode in it back in 2013, shortly beforesomeone hit Glenn while driving it. Miss Willy was the 122nd one produced after our newest DJ-3A convertible “Paterson” (10366) and only 50 units before“Rusty” (10538). Like Paterson and Rusty, it too has the convertible body. Glenn’s hoping a DJ-3A lover will restore it.

“Miss Willy, a 2WD early production 2WD Jeep, was wrecked almost two years ago. Health issues have prevented me from rebuilding this California beauty. An almost perfect rust free body, nice floors and hat channels, a few scratches from flipping on its side, has frame, hood, windshield, fenders damage and probably some hidden problems. Brakes left 4 perfect skid marks in the wreck. Interior is usable and pretty. No Engine or Radiator included as I used them in another project. What’s interesting about this truck is the top can be removed. In the first pic below you can see some of the brackets that secure the top. I can’t tell if this was done well or not.

Tim Evans shared a few photos of jeeps he saw during a tripthrough Texas’ Hill Country.One of his stops was to the National Museum of the Pacific War, a place Ann and I visited in 2015. It’s a great place to visit.

He wrote, “Last week we spent a week in Texas and spotted a few jeeps. In Fredericksburg, TX, is the National Museum of the Pacific War. A very well done museum with many detailed exhibits. On display there in the museum was a GPW, and details about the jeep and its production, use and this advertisem*nt. I spotted another GPW that the museum uses in living history demonstrations.”

About this CJ-5 grille, Tim noted, “In New Braunfels TX, I spotted a jeep grill in an antique store for only $199”

This was probably a mid 1960s poster given the Tux Park featured at the top.
